A Note from the Principal
Dear Westlawn Families,
We started our official countdown to summer this week, and this will be our last Thursday folder of the year. We have lots of fun activities happening in these last four days of the school year. Tomorrow is the district’s annual CHS graduate walk through. The graduating class of 2024 will walk through each elementary school, going back to where they began their career. All students at Westlawn will take to the hallways to cheer on these Seniors!
Next week we will close out the year with our annual Field Day on Wednesday, June 5, which is our last day of school. Also, please be sure to watch for communication from your child’s teacher regarding details for all of these events.
We wish the 5th graders farewell and know that they are well prepared for their journey as they move on to 6th grade! We look forward to hearing about the great things that they do in the years to come. We will honor our 5th grade students at an all-school assembly at the end of the day on June 5. We also bid farewell to any families who are seeing their last child move on from Westlawn this year and any families who are leaving Westlawn. Thank you for all you have done to support what we do at Westlawn during your time here. We wish you all the best!
Fourth quarter progress reports will be posted to Skyward Family Access on Thursday, June 13. You will receive an email when they are available to view.
Please take a look at THE LOST AND FOUND at Westlawn! It is in the main lobby, so if you are missing something, consider a visit!
If you have medication in the Westlawn health room, please come by next week, between June 3 and June 5, to pick up your child’s medication. We cannot send medication directly home with children. Thank you!
The summer office hours for Westlawn are 7:00-3:00 Monday-Thursday. The office is closed on Fridays. Please call ahead if you are coming in for something as there are times when office staff is away from the office at meetings or in other parts of the building. We will send updates in the summer with registration information and back to school events. I am here at Westlawn all summer so feel free to reach out with any questions.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to THANK YOU for your support throughout this school year! It has been a pleasure to partner with all of you in your child’s education. I would also like to thank our Westlawn PTO for all of the support they provide to our entire school! We are so lucky to have such a generous and supportive community.
Sincerely
Katie Ramos, Principal
