Parkview Weekly Notes
November 7, 2024
Parkview Families,
We have a lot of exciting things happening at Parkview! Thank you for reading our weekly notes for all of the details. See below for more information regarding upcoming events including Book Fair, Donuts with Dudes, and our upcoming PTO meeting on Tuesday, November 12 at 4:00PM.
We have earned our school goal of earning 600 paws, collectively! Our classes earn paws when their entire class shows Parkview Pride in different areas within the school. Our students have earned “game day” as a celebration! Each grade level will have their game day celebration before November 15. Great job, Bullpups!
Monday, November 11 is Veterans Day. We invite all students to wear red, white, and blue, as we honor our community veterans with our district Veterans Day procession. Thank you to all families who have donated to our honor flight collection. With your help, we’ve raised over $700 to send a veteran on an Honor Flight. Thank you for making this tribute possible!
Wednesday, November 13 is World Kindness Day! We invite all students and staff to wear kindness themed apparel!
Your child’s first quarter progress report will be posted in Skyward Family Access later today. You will receive an email when your child’s progress report is ready to view with instructions for how to do this. We are so proud of what our students have learned and accomplished during our first quarter! Please take time to review these reports prior to Parent Teacher Conferences on November 21 and 25. A note for 5K-5th grade families: This quarter, you may notice that progress report indicators in the area of ELA have changed to match our new curricular resource, Amplify. The staff has collectively reviewed our progress reports and matched the indicators to priority standards and skills for our ELA instruction. Some of these indicators are different from previous years and reflect the increase in rigor that comes with our Amplify resource. Parent-teacher conferences will provide the opportunity to discuss these skills and indicators. If you have specific questions about progress report indicators, please contact your child’s teacher or principal. In addition, our new Amplify resource is designed with lessons that build upon the previous day’s lesson and activities. The assessments are also directly linked to daily lessons. As such, regular attendance is critical to your child’s success. Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership.
Please remember to sign up for a parent/teacher conference. Conferences are being held on November 21 and November 25 from 4:00-7:30 p.m. 4K also has conferences during the day on November 21, therefore there is no school for 4K students on November 21. Here is the information regarding conferences and how to sign up!
We hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Brittany Kleeba, Principal
Scott May, Assistant Principal
