The PreACT Secure is designed to measure students’ progress toward college and career readiness over time. The state of WI requires freshmen and sophomores to take the PreACT Secure in the spring to help measure student growth in English, reading, math, and science. The PreACT Secure also helps predict subject and composite score ranges on the ACT. To better understand your PreACT Secure results, click here. PreACT Secure scores can help students determine specific areas to focus on for improvement as well as note areas of strength.
SAT
The SAT is the College Board's test of developed verbal, mathematical reasoning abilities and writing skills, given on specified dates throughout the year at test centers in the United States. While many eastern and west coast schools preferred the SAT in the past, every college in the US accepts the ACT or SAT. Students can register and pay the SAT test fee at www.collegeboard.com.
PSAT/NMSQT- Preliminary SAT®/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test
The PSAT/NMSQT is a shorter version of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT I) administered by high schools each year in October. The PSAT measures critical reading, verbal reasoning, math problem-solving skills, and writing skills. It also assists students with their college and career planning and serves as the qualifying test for scholarships awarded by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The PSAT and scholarship eligibility is geared for juniors, but interested sophomores can also take the PSAT for practice. The PSAT will be administered at CHS in October and registration info will be shared via email and announcements. Score reports will be available to students online in mid-December.
