Parent Permission
Parental Excused Absences - such as those for physical/mental health conditions, medical appointments (e.g., ortho, dentist, well child appointments, vaccinations, follow-up from surgery/injury), family emergencies, religious holidays, family activities/trips - are considered Parental Excused when the parent notifies the attendance office.
Parents can excuse their child(ren) for up to 10 days per school year.
5 student illness/sick days
Medically Excused Absences
- Conditions requiring last-minute appointments (e.g., bracket came off, tooth pain)
- Unplanned appointments directly related to student illness (e.g., strep throat, ear infection)
- A doctor’s note provided after the 5th illness excuse
- Documented chronic health condition(s)
